GUI Application
Sirius can be launched as a standalone GUI application, containing an arbitrary collection of services. During testing and development, it has typically served as a browser for:
the local file system
databases running on the same machine or across the network
log files for the local apache web server
a jini network
the filesystem of another machine on the network running an Uncle Unc webserver
a simulation modelling application for use by national policy-makers
The mix of services exposed by Sirius can be controlled by a simple XML file. At present, this has to be edited by hand, but it will in time be exposed as an Uncle Unc view itself.
Screenshots of the application can be found here.
